John Gray, President, The Richardson
Group
John has more than 20 years experience
in the insurance business. He spent the
first 13 years of his career at an agency
that focused on the ski industry and quickly
recognized the importance of taking a proactive
approach to minimizing risk. Later, John
moved on to apply the same "Prevention
First®" principles to two other sports-oriented
industries: ice rinks and health clubs.
Working with Connecticut-based law firm
Edwards & Angell, John developed risk
management programs recognized for their
success at helping prevent accidents before

A
native of Canada, John came to the United
States to attend the University of New Hampshire
on a hockey scholarship. After graduation,
he signed a professional contract with the
Toronto Maple Leafs and later played five
years in the World Hockey Association (WHA)
with Phoenix, Houston and, finally, the
Winnipeg Jets. John is a member of the UNH
Hall of Fame.
Tom
Ferguson, Partner, The Richardson Group
Tom graduated from UNH in 1976 with
a B.A. in Political Science. He joined Aetna
Casualty & Surety Co. in the fall of
1976 and worked as a Senior Property Underwriter
in Portland, ME, Worcester and Springfield,
MA. In May of 1980 he returned to the Seacoast
area of New Hampshire to become manager
of the large accounts department for a local
Dover agency. Two years later he was promoted
to Commercial Lines Manager.
Tom
joined the Richardson Group in 1993 to handle
large accounts and develop new business.
He became a partner in the agency in 1997.
Kathy
St. Laurent, CPCU, AIM, CPIW – Vice
President, Commercial Lines
Kathy is a member of the senior management
team for The Richardson Group and is responsible
for the management of the Commercial Lines
and Marketing departments. She has 24 years
of commercial and program business experience
with both a large regional carrier and a
national broker.
Kathy
is a member of the Chartered Property and
Casualty Underwriters, National Association
of Insurance Women and the Seacoast Insurance
Women. She enjoys sports and volunteer work.
Tony
Hirsch – Director of Claims
As Director of Claims, Tony is responsible
for the management of all claims for The
Richardson Group. Tony has accumulated 25
years of claims and risk management experience
in the insurance business. Over the last
18 years he has focused on the management
of liability and property claims. Tony has
been responsible for the training of claims
and risk management staffs, and led numerous
claims and risk management seminars.
Tony
received his B.S. from the University of
Massachusetts. In addition to skiing, Tony
is an avid golfer.
